Pre-Care for Tattoo Removal
Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a qualified practitioner to discuss the process, expected results, and any concerns.
Skin Preparation:
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks before the procedure.
Keep the tattooed area clean and moisturized.
Medications: Inform your practitioner about any medications you’re taking, particularly blood thinners or medications that affect skin healing.
Avoid Certain Products: Refrain from using topical products such as retinoids or exfoliants on the tattooed area for a week prior to treatment.
Health Considerations: Ensure you are in good health and not experiencing any infections or skin conditions in the treatment area.
Post-Care for Tattoo Removal
Clean the Area: Gently clean the treated area with mild soap and water; pat dry.
Moisturize: Apply a recommended healing ointment or moisturizer to keep the area hydrated.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the area covered and avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment to prevent pigmentation changes.
No Scratching: Avoid picking, scratching, or irritating the area as it heals.
Limit Activities: Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that cause excessive sweating for a few days after the treatment.
Watch for Signs of Infection: Monitor the area for redness, swelling, or discharge. Contact your practitioner if you notice any concerning symptoms.
Follow-Up: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to assess healing and plan for additional treatments if needed.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and Nursing: Avoid tattoo removal during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Skin Conditions: Conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or active infections in the treatment area may contraindicate treatment.
Autoimmune Disorders: Certain autoimmune diseases may interfere with the healing process.
Blood Disorders: Conditions like hemophilia or other bleeding disorders may pose risks.
Recent Surgery: Avoid removal in areas that have had recent surgical procedures.
Photosensitivity: If you’re on medications that cause photosensitivity, consult with your practitioner before treatment.
Keloid Scarring: Individuals prone to keloid formation may want to reconsider.
Shannon reserves the right to refuse services to anyone for any reason. There is a $50 cancellation fee at Enfuse and 100% of deposit at Orland for any appointment canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time. This is non negotiable and no exceptions will be made. If you make an appointment you are abiding by this policy.
If you are under 18 years of age, you MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Shannon is not able to preform services with unattended children present as it can pose a safety issue. Per the facilities policy, children also cannot be left unattended in the lobby. Please call in advance if you have issues with childcare. We will happily reschedule you.
Please note: Deposits for services are non-refundable, but can be applied as a credit towards any of Shannon's services, so if you change your mind, you have a lot of options.
