Laser Hair Removal

This is a guide to help you understand what to expect and to aid you in making the decision to invest. Prep/Post care and considerations are all here.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses concentrated light to thermally destroy hair follicles. The heat damages the root, causing the hair to fall out over a period of two weeks. While the treatment can achieve an 80-95% reduction in hair growth, it is not a permanent solution.

Treatment Schedule

  • Sessions Needed: Typically, 6-12 sessions are required, spaced 3-8 weeks apart.

  • Total Duration: The overall treatment duration can range from 18 to 96 weeks.

  • Consistency is Key: Regular appointments are crucial for optimal results.

Contraindications for Laser Hair Removal

Before starting treatment, please be aware of the following contraindications:

  • Hair Removal Methods: No waxing, threading, or tweezing for 3 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Photosensitizing Medications: These may increase burn risk.

  • Accutane: Must not have been used in the past year. Or you can bring a note from your physician.

  • Pregnancy or Nursing: Treatments should be avoided.

  • Skin Conditions: History of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, hyperphotosensitivity, vitiligo, psoriasis.

  • Diabetes: Uncontrolled diabetes may pose risks.
